The perception that corruption in the U.T post abrogation of Article 370 will get a death blow particularly in RDD & U.T. will be fast on the track of progress and transparency, is seemingly a hollow slogan on the past of U.T. administration and in fact, nothing has changed on ground and apparently we are in a situation of “Old wine in new bottles.”
Corruption has touched new heights in Rural Development Department (RDD) from last few years in the implementation of national flagship programmes like Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MG-NREGS).
The Meanwhile a group of social activists of block Gundana Panchayat Dongroo alleged that in our panchayat some works have not been done on ground but payments have already been withdrawn which indicates a major embezzlement of funds under MGNREGA.
Alleging large scale irregularities, massive bungling and misappropriation of funds in the implementation of MGNREGA scheme in the panchayat, the group of social activist sought a high level probe into all expenditures under the scheme by the J&K RDD during the past 3 years.
The group of social activist of panchayat Dongroo called for a high level probe into the multi-crore scam in the RDD preferably through CBI and ACB.
