COVID-19: 60 women from block Gundna District Doda to make thirty thousand mask in One week.

In view of the novel coronavirus pandemic, the authorities have given an order of making thirty thousand face masks to a group of ,60 women registered under the Jammu and Kashmir State Rural Livelihood Mission (JKSRLM) to be ready in five days.
Author Thomas Hardy’s quote "The perfect woman, you see is a working-woman; not an idler; not a fine lady; but one who uses her hands and her head and her heart for the good of others" seems very suitable for these Cluster-E, block Gundna   in Doda district women who are working day and night to meet the dead line of finishing thirty thousand face masks.
The women registered under small self help groups have started their task of making thirty thousand masks on war footing to play their role in combating novel coronavirus pandemic. They have completed about two thousand face masks in last three days so far and working day and night to complete the given task.
These women not only making face masks but providing necessary house hold items and looking after the day to day needs of the people living below poverty in the block Gundna district Doda.
Mohd Ameen a Cluster Cordinater(CC), Cluster-E block Gundna said a group of 60 women who are working in these self help groups have been entrusted a task of preparing thirty thousand face masks in 7 to 10 days by the district administration and out of which they have completed two to three thousand so far.
He said near about One thousand five hundred masks have been handed over to the district authorities and more are likely to be finished before the dead line.
He said for making the face masks the authorities are providing all requisite material including cloth and the women are just stitching them with zeal and perfection. |
Mohd Ameen said that these masks are being stitched and prepared duly adhering the guidelines and protocol provided by the district authorities.
He said besides doing the given task these women are providing ration and other necessary items to the families living below poverty. They are collecting rice, oil and other necessary items to distribute them among the needy people of the block.
He said the women who are working in these self help groups are not belonging from rich families but since they are engaged in work for the past five to six years, their financial position has became stable day by day.
